HUMAN: WILD IMMERSIVE CONNECTION

HUMAN: WILD IMMERSIVE CONNECTION

You have been invited to explore beyond the edges of what you know.

Take a deep dive into the human experience; unearth your greatest desires, face your most formidable fears, connect to the stories that have shaped you, open your mind wide to the new, and learn to trust your heart as it guides you.

Held at Whatipu Beach on the West Coast of Auckland, this wild connection immersion is an opportunity to shake, howl, breathe, dance, sit, share, and connect with others as you explore your most vibrant human state.

We’ll start by creating a container of trust and understanding through open and honest conversation. We’ll then revel in the richness of the human experience through breathwork, movement, voice activation, and deep stillness.

Your experience will help you connect to the HUMAN you are at your core and forge new foundations for community.

Spaces are limited to ensure a rich and supportive environment - bookings are essential.

What is involved?

This wild connection immersion will involve an afternoon of connection and an evening of wild sensory exploration amongst the dunes of Whatipu Beach.

  • From 2.00 to 4.30 pm, we'll sit in circles in the picnic area and get to know each other over hot cups of cacao and interesting questions.

  • Between 4.30 to 5.30 pm, we’ll enjoy a light vegan + gf meal and prepare to walk out to the sand dunes.

  • We’ll then walk into the strange and beautiful surroundings of ‘Auckland’s last wilderness’ - roughly 40 mins of walking on sand.

  • Once there, we’ll enjoy a ritual of breathwork, movement and voice activation as the sun goes down.

  • We will aim to be back at the car park by 10.00 pm.

For anyone wishing to enjoy the surroundings for longer or would prefer not to drive home in the dark, there is a campground adjacent to the car park to stay in. You must organise booking this yourself.

Who is this for?

This is for anyone seeking a better connection to themselves and others. Whether you are exploring a new stage of life or deepening the one you’re in, you’ll find a welcoming space that will cater to your unique needs.

All newcomers are welcome, no experience of any kind is required.

Note: Must be able to walk on sand for 40 + minutes each way.

What’s included?

  • Cacao.

  • Light vegan + GF dinner.

What’s the cost?

This immersion is offered on a sliding scale from $45 to $75. Bookings are essential as spaces are limited.

If this is out of reach at the moment, a couple of volunteer support spaces will be available to anyone who has previously attended one of our regular connection events. Get in touch here.

Who will be guiding us?

Your guide, Logan, has brought countless people together through many different practices and experiences. He’s an experienced yoga instructor, breathwork & ecstatic dance facilitator, and self-discovery coach, and holds connection events every month across Auckland.

You can read more about him and the Connection for the Curious story here.

Book your spot below.

This is about courage and honesty.

This is about being seen and heard.

This is about making meaningful connections to yourself and others.

This is about being HUMAN.

ECSTATIC CONNECTION

ECSTATIC CONNECTION

Connection for the Curious

Connection for the Curious ◌

ECSTATIC CONNECTION @ TAKAPUNA WAR MEMORIAL HALL - AUGUST 16th

Dancing is to the free human spirit as air is to our lungs.

It may just be our most vulnerable and honest form of self-expression.

Ecstatic dance is a free-form movement with no steps to learn or instructions to follow. It’s the full release of your innermost self through the physical body.

In other words, it’s an opportunity to move however you want to move and to simply feel free in your body.

Ecstatic dance is typically run in silence and with little to no communication with other people in the room.

We are here to break that tradition by offering an evening that focuses on connection rather than personal space.

We’ll start by dancing with ourselves then end together to share honest conversations and a chance to get to know the people who have enjoyed the space with you.

Whether you’ve attended one of our events before, or are new to the Connection for the Curious experience, you’ll find a welcoming space that provides you with tools and guidance to get to know a few new like-minded individuals and to get to know yourself deeper in the process.

Your guide, Logan, has brought countless people together through many different practices and experiences. You can read more about him and our story here.

What to Expect:

  • Opening talk to set expectations, boundaries and intentions for the group.

  • Gentle opening meditation.

  • A journey through music and movement (with simple guidance along the way).

  • Coming together as a group to enjoy open and honest conversations with each other.

  • Plenty of time to spark organic connections and get to know one another.

The movement journey will last roughly 90 minutes followed by at least one hour of connection time at the end.

What to Bring:

  • Comfy clothes for movement + warm clothes for the end.

  • Water bottle.

  • Mug or keep cup for herbal tea.

  • No shoes once inside the hall.

  • Courage.

Location/Time:

Takapuna War Memorial Hall.

Please arrive between 6.45 and 7.00 pm. Doors will close once we get started.

Booking/Tickets:

This event is offered with a pay-what-you-can scale between $15 to $30. Pay whatever you feel comfortable with, no questions asked 😊.

Space will be limited, please book ahead!

If you are experiencing financial hardship and are unable to make a payment, please email logan@connectionforthecurious.com prior to the event.

SUNSET CLUB: Cacao & Connection @ Piha

CURIOSITY

CONNECTION ◌ CURIOSITY ◌

SUNSET CLUB @ PIHA

This is an invitation for the curious thinkers, feelers, explorers, seekers, dreamers and creators of this world.

One of the biggest challenges many people face as they embark on a journey of self-discovery, awareness, and authenticity is isolation. It’s not easy to stray away from the world you know and for many of us, the opportunities to share this experience with others are rare or out of reach.

To remedy this, we’re bringing together anyone taking an interest in their personal well-being, awareness, spirituality, or development to create a relaxed environment that’s focused on our unique social and community needs rather than our well-loved practices.

Sunset Club is an opportunity to create connections and open honest conversations about the deeper parts of our lives, whilst enjoying the beauty of nature. We aim to create the kind of feeling you might expect at a festival or a retreat but easily and consistently throughout the year.

The evening will be kept somewhat unstructured to allow for natural social connections to unfold. We’ll offer a gentle opening movement and/or meditation and some homemade cacao to get things going. We will then dive into some explorative conversation prompts to explore a deep level of communication and connection.

Whether you’ve attended one of our previous events or are new to Wild Soul, you’ll find a welcoming space that provides you with the tools and guidance to get to know a few new like-minded individuals and to get to know yourself deeper in the process. Your guide, Logan, has brought countless people together through many different practices and experiences. You can read more about him and the Wild Soul story here.

What to Expect:

  • Short and sweet opening meditation + movement - A simple opener to get us all open and settled before mixing and mingling.

  • Conversation prompts designed to dive below the surface.

  • Homemade cacao - Vegan and GF and an optional small koha will be appreciated but not expected. *Please bring a mug or keep cup!*

  • A beautiful sunset over the water!

Whether the sky is grey with clouds or filled with rainbow hues we’ll all take a pause together to enjoy the sun’s last moments as it crosses the horizon.

What to Bring:

  • Warm clothes + blankets and/or mats to sit on.

  • A mug or keep cup for cacao.

  • Rain jacket or extra dry clothes in case of rain and wind.

  • Any friends or family that you’d like to explore this space with.

  • An open heart and mind.

What’s the Cost?

The event itself is free to attend but we would appreciate a small koha (donation) for the cacao!

Booking:

To ensure we have a clear idea of numbers and can communicate weather cancellations, please let us know you are coming via the form at the bottom of the page.

Location/Time:

We’ll meet on the beach, just over the dunes from the North Piha Carpark. I’ll be the guy with the shaved head!

THE LAST LATE SUNSET: A Wild Soul Experience

THE LAST LATE SUNSET: A Wild Soul Experience

The Last Late Sunset Is Upon Us.

What sets apart the different seasons of our lives?

What conditions create lasting change and how can we cultivate them willingly?

How are we to steady ourselves as the wild road keeps on turning?

As the last late sunset of the season falls across the sky, we’ll take a look at ourselves as we contemplate these questions and more. Through a ceremony of movement, stillness, breath, and sound, we will open our hearts and minds to the answers buried deep inside.

This will be a night of powerful release and profound connection.

Our experience will be held amongst the dunes of Whatipu Beach, also known as Auckland’s last wilderness. We will be far away from the noise and lights of the city so prepare for a wild night!

Together we will breathe through the burdens of self-doubt, dance off the heavy expectations that weigh us down, sink into the memories hidden deep in our bodies and howl like the wild and free souls we truly are!

This experience is designed to bring you safely into a state of openness and willingness. You’ll explore new physical and emotional sensations which will help to open your mind to all the possibilities that lie ahead of you.

Read more about our experiences here.

What to expect:

  • A long walk out to the Whatipu Beach sand dunes (1-2kms, 40+ mins).

  • Opening intention setting and guidance (with optional cacao).

  • Heart and mind-opening meditation.

  • Strong breathwork journeying (no prior experience needed).

  • Voice activation (humming, chanting, and howling).

  • Somatic movement/dancing.

  • Grounding and integrating stillness.

  • Sharing/connection circle to end.

What to bring:

  • Comfortable clothes for movement + rain jacket in case of wet weather.

  • Warm/dry layer or blanket for the end.

  • Water bottle.

  • Mug or keep cup for cacao.

  • Headlamp or torch (we will be walking back in the dark).

  • Bag to carry everything (please place your warm clothes in something waterproof in case of rain).

Note: Toilets will be in the car park, far away from the dunes - Please consider your needs whilst out in the dunes and prepare for nature to support you…

Cost:

This experience will run on a pay-what-you-can scale between $10 to $50. To understand how this works click here.

Cash or bank transfers are accepted on or after the day!

Booking:

To ensure we have a clear idea of numbers and can communicate weather cancellations, please let us know you are coming via the form at the bottom of the page.

****Bookings must be made before 9 am on Saturday. Please do not arrive without confirmation from me on the day!****

Location/Time:

Whatipu Beach, West Auckland.

We will meet in the car park at the end of Whatipu Road between 4.30 and 4.45 pm. If you are late, please do not try to find us as the dunes can be hard to navigate.

We expect to be back at the car park between 9.30 and 10.00 pm.

Note: It’s a long, narrow, and poorly maintained gravel road near the end and we’ll be leaving in the dark.

Please drive safely and if you are uncomfortable with these conditions, contact us to arrange carpooling from Titirangi or Huia.

There are campgrounds at Whatipu Beach Lodge and at Barn Paddock Campground in Huia for anyone looking to stay close overnight. These will need to be organised by you and we cannot guarantee that their gates will be open late.

Please book below.
